| Ive just returned from the heart of Africa, where along with my remarkable crew, I spent two weeks traveling from the continents southern-most tip, the Cape of Good hope, to the wildlife paradise known as the Masa Mara in Kenyas renowned Serengeti. What an experience! After a few luscious days in Capetown (South Africas cosmopolitan focal point, where, among other things, we enjoyed both Cape Whale and Great White Shark spotting), I headed to Johannesburg, and from there, to Nairobi; Kenyas sprawling capital. Nairobi offered some intense experiences for a chef, including Carnivores, a meat-centered restaurant famous for its spear-roasted game (including élan, zebra, and crocodile) which are prepared over an open charcoal pit that dominates the entrance. But in Kenya, all roads to adventure lead to the vast safari country in the south. We passed the bulk of our time filming the migrating herds of wildebeest, and the resident lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, cheetahs, impalas, and baboons, which will form an outstanding audio and visual backdrop for the premiere episode of my new Food Network series, Keith Famies Adventures, set to air Monday, November 12th at 10:00 EDT.
